About Tallow Abode Apothecary
Our Story
One of our passions is reducing the chemical footprint in our boys, ourselves, and our families. (My fellow label readers unite!!) So when a loved one who had experienced severe radiation burnfrom cancer treatment found out they had to do another round, we got to thinking.
What can we use to help nourish the skin WITHOUT all the crazy additives I cannot even say correctly? Regular lotions hurt raw irritated skin, even natural aloe stung. We collectively landed on tallow. So I whipped up a batch! Fortunately this round of radiation was light so our loved one didn’t need it for that purpose, but of course we still shared it with them. After all, making it for them was the whole purpose of this venture.
Well now we had this tallow on hand, which this mama was NOT about to let go to waste. So I used it myself, and on my sensory sensitive boys (who also think lotion and aloe and quite literally everything, burns) and on my husband. HELLOOO NURSE.
We discovered the wonders of tallow and fast! During the summer our pale freckled family healed sunburns OVERNIGHT with my personal favorite “Combo” selection. For deeper sunburns it took a few more applications, even with those we had virtually NO PEELING. For us, that is huge.
But what about other uses? Our 3 yr old has sensitive skin prone to breakouts, bumps, rashes, etc. So on went our Combo tallow. AGAIN. The results came overnight. When I tell you I was blown away by the magic of this 100% all natural product I had created, that’s no lie!
I HAD to share this magic. So with more jars on hand, I shared our tallow with family and friends. One by one they fell in love. One by one they healed this ailment or that. I wanted to continue to share this magic. So I created a logo I love as much as the product itself and, as they say, the rest fell into place. For this I am so grateful.
Now we get to share the love! One of my favorite things is seeing peoples faces after trying the samples. I ADORE sharing this with you. I love to see our products at work for people while reducing the chemical impact on their bodies. I hope you love our products and get to experience the beneficial punch they bring. Our Products
All of our products are carefully crafted with natural ingredients to nourish and rejuvenate your skin. Our tallow is derived from 100% grassfed Southern California beef. We get it fresh and get started on our ultra refined rendering process right away. This process leaves us with a clean, luxurious product that will have you coming back for more! (Seriously I’m so glad we make this, I am constantly refilling our personal stash, I’m hooked!)
All our added ingredients are 100% pure and all natural. Organic is always chosen when available and you’ll find no hidden ingredients, and no tricks. No synthetic fragrances are ever used. We craft our scent selections with essential oils to keep it natural and give you those added benefits they carry!
You will find the ingredients on the bottom of each glass (yes always glass because plastic is gross) vessel. Clear ingredients that you not only know, but can pronounce! Go figure! If you ask us, it’s the way products should be.
Our ultra refined rendering process is NEVER done in nonstick. We don’t use plastic during this process either. Rendering is done in stainless steel or Green Life vessels. No leeching here thanks!
Once that is done we whip our selections up according to demand, stock, custom orders, and even requests! So much care, well wishes, and pride goes into these products. We want you to love them as much as we do. They‘re our gift to you ♥️

(We said *could*, please don’t eat our products, unless it’s our cooking tallow 😉)
